 Our Church Groups

Junior Church.
The Junior Church meet every Sunday, the first part of the service is family time and then the children go to their groups. Usually the children meet as one group and have a variety of activities lots of fun, fellowship and prayer!! We cater for all needs and are very privileged to have many with special needs.

We were absolutely delighted when one of our teenagers who has been with our church family since she was a few months old, asked to be baptised and become a church member. Being December this was in the church sanctuary within a large paddling pool!

Hannah being baptised within a church service – a very special occasion

The children’s fantastic efforts  – two wheelbarrows filled with coins from their sunshine bags collected for the Open Door appeal.

The children love arts and crafts!! So do some of the Leaders!!!

The Ministry of Flowers & The Flower Team

The Church has several volunteers arranging flowers on a regular basis. The money to buy Sunday flowers comes through the generosity of the Church family who place their names on a flower calender and give a donation to the Flower Team to purchase and arrange their flowers. The volunteers always try to fulfil special requirements and, wherever possible, buy colours and varieties requested - season permitting of course!

Our newly refurbished Church and building will bring challenges as we now decide how to dress the Sancturay, and with the Foyer and the Open Door cafe we hope to bring a new dimension to our work.

As this is also part of our Ministry we work closely with the Pastoral Teams to provide flowers and arrange visits for those who are ill, in hospital bringing love and support from the family of the URC.

New or returning volunteers are always welcome and if you would like to join the Flower team, either to arrange flowers or help at festival times (Christmas, Easter and Harvest) in any capcity, or indeed, to donate to the flower fund, please contact the Team Co-ordinator.

We are hoping to offer workshops in the future for anyone interested in flower arranging, either to join the team or do it just for fun!

Flowers for Weddings and other occasions can also be catered for on request.

For further details please contact the Team Co-ordinator:- Pauline Rushton on 01590 689029.

Healing Ministry

The Church and Minister are always willing to offer prayer and/or laying on of hands after the Sunday Service, at the Wednesday Prayer Group or during a pastoral visit. But, please contact the Church to discuss any personal or individual requirements, we are an Open Door to all!

Alpha Course
The present course is based at the Church of England Church, it is ecumenical and is being attended by some of the Church family. We held our own course some time ago and we are keen to do this again. Details will be provided when the situation progresses.

Pastoral Care & Visitors
Everyone is in Pastoral Care Group and has a visitor – this could be an Elder or Church Member. The Pastoral Visitors seek to form good relationships, keeping regular contact and making sure that those in their group receive their monthly Church Magazine. The Elders and Pastoral Visitors meet quarterly to discuss, in confidence, the joys and challenges and how we can do our best to care for everyone.
