On Friday 5th May our own United Warblers entertained us with singing all those well-known songs, with our church Fellowship & Fundraising Group providing the cream tea. During a couple of the songs the gentlemen singers in the Warblers suddenly and with no warning appeared with appropriate props for “Singing in the Rain” and “Bring me sunshine”………..it will never be forgotten!!

Spring has at last sprung! Was it really five months ago that we were starting our Christmas preparations and setting up the CFGC shop? And here we are now, well
into spring. We’ve seen the beautiful crocuses in our Church lawn, the daffodils waving in our gardens and amazing carpets of snowdrops heralding its arrival.
Later in the month, we celebrate Easter, the oldest and most important Christian Festival,
celebrating the death and coming to life again of our Lord, Jesus Christ. For Christians, the dawn of Easter Sunday, with its message of new life, is the high point of the Christian year.

The pictures, kindly taken and provided by Mum, shows her daughter Olivia admiring the beautiful crocuses she helped plant in November 2016 in our church forecourt. Olivia is now enjoying the fruits of her labour whilst also attending the Little Explorers group here at the church on Thursdays from 9.15am to 11am. The purple flowers helps promote Rotary’s project for the eradication of polio.
Thank you to Olivia and all the children who planted nearly 3500 bulbs.
